HDR
1) To shoot in HDR, you have to set up the Auto Exposure Bracketing.
2) You need a tripod and HDR blending software.
3) I might use HDR to bring out colors more or make a photo look more realistic.
4) I can expect light and dark parts of the picture to be enhanced and colors overall brightened.

Final Exam Preview

1) I had a youtube channel when I was 12-13 and I know all about i movie and I'n decent with Final Cut pro. I know all the basics of getting audio and cutting and trimming scenes.

2) Using a DSLR is different from using a phone because you wont be able to look at the footage really until you put it on your computer so you have to make sure that the audio is working and everything is in frame.

3) One of ideas is that I am going to be getting a puppy soon and documenting its growth over the first couple weeks could be a cool idea for the project. Another idea that I like is going mini-golfing with friends, capturing emotions of happy and disappointed would be helpful to telling a story. My other idea is that I could try to learn something new and document my progress with video clips and cool action shots, like learning how to skateboard.

4) Still images can be very useful to show emotion or just add a cool angle for a picture that wouldn't be good for a video. A lot can be taken away from a picture just by looking at different components like lighting and framing which is a little different from video.

5) I could use audio by giving specifics how big my new dog is or if my friend's putt went in or not. I could get creative using different tempos of music throughout my video to evoke more emotion in the person watch it. I think putting music over some of the still images would be best and I narrarate the video parts and some of the images that need explantation.

Opinions Writing

Nowadays, kids have a lot of forms of communication via social media and different apps. People are connected to each other now more than ever due to the ease of communication.

Social media and other forms of communication via phone should be more encouraged by parents and schools through classes to get more kids used to internet communication at a young age.

Most communication in our everyday lives is through the internet because the internet allows you to talk to someone no matter where you are. Kids need to learn how to talk to others over the phone and on social media platforms to be more successful.

Social media allows young kids to make a lot of new friends easily and make more connections to benefit them later in life. Socially awkward kids can now make friends more easily by talking behind a screen and building up confidence.

There are many high paying jobs working in social media as influencers and other positions, this should be taught to kids because it is a legitimate job that is becoming more and more popular. Kids should be taught strategies about how to become "famous" on social media as a job.

Learning about social media is also important because kids need to know what is acceptable to post online. Learning norms and guidelines of social media at a young age is very important so that you don't get in trouble like the kids who got their college acceptance letters revoked after posting inappropriate stuff online.

All schools nationwide should have classes dedicated to students learning more about social media and the dos and don'ts to better prepare them for the future because social media is only getting bigger. Kids should be encouraged to use all kinds of social media to make new friends, look for starting jobs, or just learn about new things.

Although some people say that communicating through technology can make people awkward in person, this is only a problem with people who were already socially awkward and didn't work to get better at talking to people. If anything, technology allows people to be more social and confident and get better at talking to people.

Kids should be encouraged by adults to use more social media and should be able to learn more about social media in classes in their schools.

Student of the Month Story

Who- Brian, the student of the month
What- Student of the month award
When- March 3rd, 2019
Where- Bowie Highschool
Why- To show who the best overall student was during February and to get insight on what they did to get student of the month
How- Interview him personally

Brian Earl
Mr. Williams (math teacher)
Caden Cooper (classmate)

Every month, Bowie High School gives out a student of the month award to show who the hardest working and well rounded student was. This month, Brian Earl took home the award of student of the month thanks to hard work and a lot of dedication.

When interviewing Brian, I learned that it took a lot of dedication to earn this award.

"I worked very hard and studied every night for each class," Says Brian.

However I learned that the award did not just depend on grades.

"I had perfect attendance and I am very involved in my community as I do community service 3 times a day," Brian proudly states.

Brian expected to win the award but it wasn't one of his personal goals.

"I had a feeling I would be student of the month because of the effort I put towards it, but I didn't do any extra work to win it," He says.

Brian definitely thinks he deserves to be student of the month and is proud of his accomplishment.

"I was the best in school and I do so many extra curricular activities, I am always busy and this award belongs to me," He exclaims.

When asked what kind of activities he does outside of school he replied.

"Well I don't play sports, as I am not athletically gifted, however I volunteer a lot and contribute to my community every chance I get," He said proudly.

Brian's teachers couldn't agree more with Brian.

"He works harder than anyone and definitely deserves this award. His grades and attitude are outstanding," math teacher Mr. Williams exclaimed.

We asked some of Brian's classmates and they have a different view on the award.

"He doesn't deserve the award, I do! I work much harder than he does and I wasn't recognized," Classmate Caden said angrily.

Brian doesn't seem interested in winning the award again.

"I want to give someone else a chance to win student of the month, I wouldn't mind winning it again but I am not going to go out of my way to win again," Brian says.

Nut Graf

A nut graf in journalism is the context of the story. The nut graf normally starts in the third or forth paragraphs. The nut graf just restates the who, what when where, why, and how. This gives extra context to the story and allows the reader to know more information and have it spread throughout the story, not all in the beginning or in one place.
